Amongst other new features, DSpace 1.5 now offers a Configurable Submission system which allows institutions to make localized changes to the default submission process and potentially share these changes with others. This tutorial session will overview the Configuration Submission (CS) system, detailing how it may be used, and how to customize or create your own steps within the submission process. Outline: - Overview of CS: features, how it works, etc. - Configuration options: the item-submission.xml for JSP-UI and XML-UI - What is a Step? JSP-UI versus XML-UI - Rearranging existing steps - Understanding \"non-interactive\" steps - Walk-through creation of custom steps: - Remove the \"Initial Questions\" and create a non-interactive step to replace it - Create a step to pre-fill metadata from PubMed - Sharing your custom steps - Where to go for more help or more information
