Abstract

The Digital Information Virtual Archive (DIVA) is a new open repository developed at San Francisco State University. DIVA is a modern web application and service that provides a comprehensive approach integrating everyday faculty needs with more formal collections from campus libraries, discipline-based resource centers, community groups, and other sources. To encourage faculty use, DIVA makes it easy to add, discover existing, and directly use resources in the repository. Rich content authoring tools provide the ability to easily author multimedia web-accessible documents and presentations incorporating a wide-variety of repository resources. Faculty have used these tools to create lectures, syllabi, exercises, readings lists, research overviews, and other scholarly materials that are then stored in the repository and shared with students and colleagues.
